    1. Now, that s how you do a crossover Only two books involved, nice artwork, fast paced, action packed, high stakes, no excess fat and some genuine surprises I enjoyed this one a lot.

    2. Following up on Messiah Complex, this is at least a big chunk of the saga of Cable taking Hope on the road I haven t been following the story through Cable s series, and I m not likely to do so I picked this up for the X Force connection I m not sorry I did Sure, it s basically a Cable story, but X Force are than just backups here They re used really well.Hope is seven in this story, and believe it or not, she actually read like a slightly mature than average seven year old Not a much younger [...]

    3. While I am an X fan, before reading this book I d never ever read any story with Cable, Deadpool, Stryfe, or Bishop, and I wasn t familiar with their history I d not yet read Messiah Complex which this book is the sequel to In spite of all this, I still enjoyed this book Here s why Absolutely everything you need to know about anybody in this story is supplied between its covers There s a bonus feature that explains who s who and what s what There s a 3 part story of the life of Bishop, from birt [...]

    4. A fun read as Cable travels through time trying to hide the child named Hope An X Force team follows in an effort to provide back up as Bishop pursues to kill the child But Bishop isn t the only danger as old enemies rear their heads I enjoyed the art and if you enjoyed Yost s X Force work or read the Messiah Complex this is one you ll want to read too.

    5. Well that was funny as fuck Okay so the X Force team gets sent into the future to save Hope, Cyclops daughter Cable is still protecting her and is like no go, she s mine to protect But of course still have that asshole Bishop like NO SHE MUST DIE because he s a fucking psycho Oh yeah and did I mention Apocalypse kid is here I never even heard of this dude but he looks like a guy straight out of game of thrones mixed with Final Fantasy 12 His freaking armor is huge, some world of warcraft shit An [...]

    6. After reading the exceptional X Men Second Coming crossover event, which is essentially a sequel to this book, I decided to go back and read Messiah War to fill in the gaps What a waste of time that turned out to be As the middle point in the Messiah Complex War Second Coming trilogy of X Men tales, this one is the weakest by a large margin Where the first and last entries do a fantastic job of juggling multiple arcs and dozens of characters, culminating in massive, earth shaking battles, this o [...]

    7. Super intense set of stories This is the chronicle of Cable s efforts to protect the first mutant child born after M Day named Hope Summers by Cable from a once ally who becomes obsessed with killing the child, and in his mind, saving the future Cable is from the future, one in which the mutant scientist created him using DNA from Scott Summers and Jean Gray although his mother was a clone of Gray All Cable knows how to be is a warrior, and he proves that he won t stop until he sees Hope safe.Th [...]

    8. This was actually pretty much what I expected it to be Both good and bad Good because I kind of already knew everything that was going to happen but it still kept me hooked and didn t disappoint Bad it didn t exceed my expectations. You pretty much know what you will get Lots of time jumpingThe big boy Cable and our little Messiah HopeX Force over the top actionBad bad guys with big armsHilarious DeadpoolHidden agendasConfusing timelines and different futuresFound myself a lot of times rather con [...]

    9. I didn t really love it because I don t really like X Force, but my girlfriend will love it because she loves X Force, and there s a lot of X Force in it but also a lot of Cable, who hasn t been a good character for like 20 years There s a payoff for this being an X Force book that doesn t happen till the sequel, which doesn t exactly make me like this book Or maybe it does I had to get through it really fast so my girlfriend could read it, I m not complaining just telling you.

    10. Part 2 3 of the Messiah Complex Event. Also 3,5 stars Random thoughts Deadpool is as sassy as I imagined and it was so awesome to read about Didn t learn about what Hope really is the way I wanted to, but guess it ll happen in part 3 The ending with Bishop WHAT HOW The art was ok.

    11. I sometimes forget how good X Men books can be This is the story of the war after Hope was born, and from what I gathered, after Bishop failed to pull the trigger on the previous series it follows the war through time to track Cable as he tried to protect her future and the future of all mutants to give them a purpose and life I really enjoyed the inclusion of the three part Life and Times of Lucas Bishop at the end It really filled in many of the blanks that I had after just picking up this boo [...]

    12. Gotta be honest heredidn t dog that story, at all.The art is bad enough, but then there was the plot whichh. And while it could have been worse, it also could have been a heck of a lot better.

    13. MESSIAH WAR picks up a few months after the close of MESSIAH COMPLEX, with Cable having escaped into the time stream with his adopted daughter, Hope Hers is the first mutant birth since M Day, a holocaust that reduced the world s mutant population from several million to fewer than 200 She is either the savior of mutantkind or the one who damns them all Cable believes she is the key to preventing the dystopian future, where mutants are corralled into prison camps in a post apocalyptic nightmare. [...]

    14. This is considered the second volume of the Messiah Trilogy, although there are some gaps to be filled in with the Cable and X Force titles However, this massive volume begins with a nice recap of the issues between Messiah CompleX and Messiah War.As the title suggests, the second volume in the trilogy is mainly an X Force Cable affair and despite never being a big reader of either two titles, I followed along just fine There were many cameos via plot development that were amazing and I won t sp [...]

    15. Well, not as good as Messiah Complex, but not bad I m going to write a lot of complaints, but I m certainly giving the book four stars So there. The opening two part Cable story is a good way to set the tone, and finally gives a chance for Hope to start to get some character. The Times and Life of Lucas Bishop does a really good job of gathering random bits of Bishop s story and bringing them together in a cohesive way But the art is incredibly distracting everyone is so weird looking that you can [...]

    16. Meh.It started off so promising, too The first chapters give a great setup Cable and Hope the child who will either save or destroy the mutant race are on the run from Bishop, who is chasing them into the future The idea that Bishop is engineering global holocausts to restrict Cable s movement is a great Big SciFi concept, as is the handicap that Cable can only leap forward in time It creates for a great man on the run atmosphere, and as he goes farther and farther into the future, the Earth bec [...]

    17. Great story Cable X Force stories 5 stars Great story, but I have been following the Cable storyline for a while so I didn t have any trouble following along Bishop story 2 stars I just couldn t stand the art by Larry Stroman Everyone and I mean everyone looked like aliens and it distracted me the whole time.DISCLAIMER That being said, you have to realize that you can not just pick up this book without knowing the history behind it If you haven t read the stuff before, skip to the back, read Cab [...]

    19. I bought this so I could catch up on the whole Messiah War Second Coming storyline Um I m still pretty confused, but that s pretty much par for the course when it comes to anything involving Cable What I wouldn t give for a universe where the continuity doesn t involve time travel or clonesWhen gathered together in one volume, the difference in art styles is definitely jarring I m personally partial to Mike Choi s contributions, but then I m a fan of Choi s work Jamie McKelvie s work on Wastelan [...]

    20. In true X Men fashion, X Force travel to yet another Post Apocalyptic Dystopian Future to save Cable and Hope Who s Hope You have to be a regular reader of X Men to know who she is but for those who are unfamiliar with the current roster of Muties, all is explained in this volume.Although not essential reading, it does add scope to the upcoming Avengers vs X Men event.Loyal X Men readers would love this book since it delivers on action The artwork is great, albeit inconsistent between chapters b [...]

    21. I liked this story a lot, although i got a bit confused about the ending really I didn t get the strand of the story that was about the time travel that took x force to the future running out That made things quite confusing I quite liked the big three way stoush between stryfe, cable, and bishop over this kid, although this arc suffered a bit from being a middle chapter and actually introducing plots and characters rather than tying up a few Still, i m pretty keen to read second coming and hop [...]

    22. Bridges the gap between Messiah Complex and Second Coming Action scenes are awesome, character roster is full of great mash ups of X men, X Force, Bishop, Stryfe, Apocalypse, Deadpool, and Hope Cable The overl story is pretty much contained within the volume, it does a really good job at getting you caught up to speed. One question I ve been dying to know, is Bishops grandmother Storm I swear the physical resemblance and his grandmother s knowledge of the Xmen implies it Which be fine and kinda c [...]

    23. This was an amazing book to read I m starting to bone up on the X men Messiah run and I absolutely loved this graphic novel For starters, the artwork is utterly spectacular Very realistic, very well done with each character Secondly, the storyline is fabulous We see life through Cable s eyes as he tries to find a safe environment for the mutant messiah Hope He runs into some troubles and finds some help along the way Of course he and the girl are being hunted by Bishop, who has a personal vendet [...]

    24. Anything building on twenty years of X Men continuity is likely to be muddled and confusing, and this TBP is both The core story, of a cop and a soldier fighting to kill save a child of prophecy, is strong The sequence is confusing we don t get Bishop s motivations for hunting the child till near the end, and the book would have benefited from starting, rather than ending, with backstory and character synopses. This builds on some of the best Age of Apocalypse and worst Stryfe of an insanely conv [...]

    25. The Messiah War is not an amazing story and is only made enjoyable by the art of Clayton Crain There is nothing worth noting in this story that is clearly a bridge for the upcoming Messiah Second Coming nothing is learned about the characters, there is a clear distinction between the good guys and bad guys and the most annoying aspect is that nothing is learned about Hope This is a standard go back in time to fix something so that our future is insured story with a bad guy tower of doom and thou [...]

    26. The third act of a bad action movie explosions, huge guns, lots of yelling, mixed with a few good character moments If the event had changed any part of the status quo, I think I would have liked it better, but in the end, Cable and Hope have to jump time again, X Force is off to murder people again with angst on their plate, and Bishop has sworn to keep doing what he s doing I m left with wondering why Bishop, knowing everything he does, never considered that maybe his role was to mentor Hope [...]

    27. Wow This was much better than Messiah Complex Here we have Cable, time sliding with Hope, still protecting her Cyclops, realizing that due to the nature of time travel they should have been back by now, sends the newly re established X Force Wolverine, Archangel, Warpath, Domino, X 23, Wolfsbane, Elixir, and Vanisher off to track them down and save them Bishop is still hunting them both and is sworn to destroy Hope A mistaken timeslide, a trap sprung enter Stryfe Then Apocalypse Knock down, drag [...]

    28. I always thought Cable is an epic guy but Messiah Complex didn t unfold all of his epicness, whether Messiah War did Or boy it did Don t care for some plot holes Don t care for deus ex machina with meaningless appearence of Apocalypse in the end The groundbreaking art made all the characters look as bad ass as they ve never been before The time travel concept with only option to travel further not backwards was so entertaining and inspiring gosh I hope I will see it in cinemas when I ll be 35 th [...]

    29. A great follow up to messiah complex I hadn t previously read a book starring cable, so for me it was a bit confusing whenever they talk about past issues related to his storylines But all in all it was fine, and I was able to follow the story well My only issue with the book was that there was so much back and forth Like every few seconds it felt like oh he is finally gonna do it then suddenly a character comes and stops that out of the blue Also deadpool was in the book I m not a big fan of hi [...]
