    4. I thought this book was okay Basically S is for Story is an alphabet book that teaches us the different components in a story For example, A is for the alphabet, B is for books, C is for characters, D is for drafts, and so on the thing that I liked about this book is that it can be used for younger and older children Each letter has a story that tells you how writing stories has evolved That would be for the older kids Under each story, there is a small poem that explains what each letter stands [...]

    9. This book is a great tool to use in a writer s workshop It incorporates the letters of the alphabet, rhyming, great pictures, and literary vocabulary all in one It can also be used for prediction I would have students predict what they think the next word the next letter of the alphabet would represent, and then have students do the activity with that word This book could be stretched and used over the span of 2 weeks.

    10. There is so much information in this book, it might take readers several reading to digest it It s not your ordinary alphabet book This would be great for all classrooms to open up discussions on what writing is and the elements it takes to complete a piece of work There are teachers guides available to download on the website sleepingbearpress I also loved how the books uses current authors to explain specific terms.
