I was disappointed I think it could have been a decent book with the right editorial advice Next book might be better But really couldn t like the hero and I found the dialogue stilted.Henrietta Maria, daughter of Louis XIII of France I think not She was his sister Little things like this can be irritating HM for all her catholicism was the daughter of the man who changed his relgion for Paris.

Set in the early days of the English civil war, this book is from the perspective of Royalists fighting Paliamentaerians in the West Country I am enjoying the story and it is a theatre of the war I was not so familiar with usually the focus in 1642 is the Kings campaign in the Midlands and Edgehill.It is out of print I think but worth a look out for.
