    1. The best thing about this book are the many photographs of Gielgud s epic stage career The writing is banal.

    4. Fascinating look at an actor whose work I knew very little about, but always liked One of the greatest stars of the English theatre, considered by many to be the preeminent stage actor of the 20th Century, he performed for almost 80 years Very entertaining biography.
