    1. The names Suzanne Stabile and Ian Morgan Cron may or may not mean something to you When I heard they were writing a book about the Enneagram, I paid attention Stabile is a well known Enneagram teacher I ve never been able to attend one of her workshops but I ve followed her online for a while Cron is probably better known as an author and Episcopal priest, although he s done some speaking on the Enneagram in recent years The combination of Stabile and Cron her extensive knowledge plus his gift f [...]

    2. Super helpful and enjoyable introduction to the enneagram I d read nothing on it previously other than a couple inline summaries, and this was an accessible and relatable entry into what seems to be a rich and complex thing It moves quickly, it is concise, it is funny in parts, and it is strikingly insightful.

    3. Maybe it s because I came to this book already equipped with a basic working knowledge of the enneagram, but I found The Road Back to You to be a bit helpful in my understanding of the enneagram than Richard Rohr s book The Enneagram A Christian Perspective , which was my introduction to the enneagram and a major source of guidance for many others and which, frankly, left me a little confused Ian and Suzanne s writing made the characteristics of each number much clear to me, and I appreciated [...]

    4. Knowing my Myers Briggs type never did much for me Knowing my Enneagram number has deepened my self awareness, given me practical and specific tools for growth, and helped me better understand people who are wired entirely differently than me.Part of what makes this ancient personality typing system so compelling is the fact that your number is not a static description of yourself it s a spectrum you re constantly engaging with as you learn to recognize the behavioral patterns, coping mechanisms [...]

    5. One of the most accessible, readable books on the Enneagram I ve encountered.

    6. There are others personality typing systems that describe and encourage you to embrace who you are, which isn t very helpful if who you are is a jerk This is wonderful introduction to the Enneagram Personality Typing System The authors break down a complicated subject into a clear, concise, and entertaining guide to self discovery The authors tell it like it is and provide relatable and often humorous examples. As I read through the different personality types searching for myself, it seemed at f [...]

    7. Summary Describes the Enneagram and each of the nine types, and how these may be helpful in Self discovery, uncovering one s true self and experiencing spiritual growth.John Calvin, and many others have observed that knowledge of God and knowledge of self often go hand in hand Often, what we do not know or knowledge that has been colored by the wounds of our upbringing deflect us from knowing God and ourselves truly One of the tools that has been found increasingly helpful by many spiritual dire [...]

    8. Personality type fascinates me I knew some about the Enneagram before reading this but this book helped me want to understand people better in order to love them well.

    9. Wow The enneagram has opened up so much to think on I have learned so much about myself and have so much to learn I love that this book takes the approach of the enneagram through the lens of the Gospel I think I ve figured out my number a 6 but I m not still not certain which I think is pretty characteristic of a 6 I would love to dig deeper with an enneagram class I also love how this book helps you see each number s strength and weakness, where you tend to go in stress and where you tend to [...]

    11. I listened to audiobook on audible, and the author was a great narrator I think I ll listen to parts of this again and again It would be nice to have the hard copy for reference, though This knowledge will actually change the way perceive myself and others Hopefully, it will also influence my actions as I seek to become healthier.

    12. This is an extremely accessible and enjoyable introduction to the enneagram as a tool for personal and spiritual growth Ian Cron, the author, narrates and is extremely easy and pleasant to listen to

    13. This book was written with lots of compassion, humor, and insight It would be a good introduction to the Enneagram or a good supplement for those who are already familiar it does a better job than most of reflecting on being in community with different Enneagram types.

    14. this was a GREAT read listen I felt it was the most succinct and approachable guide to the Enneagram that I ve read By Far I guess that could be because each time I ve learned and retained a bit about it, but I really felt like Cron EMBODIED what it means to be each type and really talked about what it looks like in day to day life so much better than many others have done highly recommended for personality geeks like me

    15. This is the clearest and most helpful presentation of the Enneagram that I ve read Even if you re skeptical of these sorts of tools, you couldn t read this book and not come away with a better understanding of yourself and those close to you I enjoyed the structure of each chapter as the authors explained each Type and will continue to refer to this book to grow in my understanding and compassion toward other people.

    16. Coupled with The Course of Love, these two books have come along at a crucial time in my life and given me great insight into myself, allowing for the self discovery I ve been searching for.If you re interested in engaging with and learning about your core self in a tangible way, give this a read It s a great introduction to the Enneagram, how it operates and how you and others experience the world.

    17. Excellent Loved hearing about the different types of personalities which helps me better understand and serve the people around me This book helped me see into the minds and hearts of so many people in my life It also points out areas in my own life that I need to improve on I read this with my husband and we have had so many great conversations that stemmed from it Loved this book and would recommend it to anyone

    18. I cannot recommend or praise this book enough Studying the Enneagram has been revolutionary for me and the voice of this text was relevant, humorous, clear and sobering.

    19. Cron and Stabile s exploration of the enneagram is organized by the triads the gut types 8,9 1 , the heart types 2,3 4 and the head 5,6, 7 Organizing it this way means that they saved the best for last On a scale of one to nine, I m a seven I avoid pain, and anticipate, crave experience I don t always follow through Yes this describes me, especially when I was in my 20s which is the optimum timeframe for enneagram typecasting Cron and Stabile write from a Christian perspective and identify gifts [...]

    20. Having dabbled in the Enneagram, taken the tests, reading brief overviewsc i finally delved deeply into understanding each of the nine types through Cron s incredibly engaging and image rich descriptions Cron is able to weave together both a deductive and inductive picture and analysis of each type in such a way that you can truly see it in both the text and the people you know, including yourself, which is most helpful i highly recommend this book as a foundation for understanding the Enneagra [...]

    21. The Road Back to You is an excellent entry into the vast world of the Enneagram, a personality typing system with particular spiritual roots Cron is an exemplar storyteller and his illustrations make each type come alive and remind you of people you know It makes the book a very engaging read I ll be recommending this to anyone curious about where to start unpacking the Enneagram, and to anyone wanting to gain some deeper self awareness in order to better navigate their relationship with God and [...]

    23. The Road Back to You An Enneagram Journey to Self Discovery is such a fascinating book and Ian Morgan Cron has an easy going, humorous and almost soothing writing style that I found quite enjoyable After reading the first paragraph I was immediately engrossed and found it so difficult to put down who needs sleep anyways I ve always been interested in personalities and what makes people tick so to discover the enneagram was kinda like falling down the rabbit hole for me As I made my way through t [...]

    24. Reviewed for THC ReviewsI ve been studying personality typing for than twenty years, primarily the Myers Briggs Jung typology via the Kiersey Temperament Sorter When I first discovered it all those years ago, I couldn t believe how uncannily accurate it was in describing me and my behavior patterns Since then I haven t found any other personality typing system that was nearly as accurate Until now Our pastor, who is also the leader of our church book club, suggested The Road Back to You for our [...]

    25. Sorry to all of my friends and family, because reading this book has led to a second wave of obsession with the enneagram, which means I will continue to work it into conversation and psychoanalyze you I liked this book than Rohr s for a christian perspective on the enneagram, because it was a little accessible and succinct I continue to find this personality inventory helpful for understanding myself and others, so than other assessments because it focuses on our deepest desires and fears ra [...]

    26. I am a big believer in Myers Briggs, and the Enneagram is difficult for me to grasp That being said, this is a really fun listen as the Author Ian is the Narrator, and he is so pleasant to listen to I think this is a great starter book for anyone interested in the Enneagram as the authors bring in a really strong Christian based spiritual explanation of the tool that is th Enneagram That being said, I struggle to understand myself in the Enneagram and will need to read further This book does ten [...]

    27. This is a great introduction to enneagram, and I LOVE how Ian makes a point to say don t be that ennegram person We all know them As Ian says just shut up So don t be like them Don t make excuses for your behavior based on your number Don t place people in boxes because of their number Just use it as a personal tool to notice potential habits you might be stuck in This isn t like Myers Briggs It s not a personality test Personality tests put you in a box Enneagram tells you the box you re alread [...]

    28. I really loved this book, especially the anecdotes specifically referring to the various enneagram numbers I feel like I have a compassionate outlook on people whom I have struggled to understand in the past However, some of the author s side stories and his tone of voice I listened to the audio version were a little bit goofy and annoying It also has a Christian perspective, which I do not mind but I know might not be for everyone interested in the enneagram topic Overall, I think this book is [...]

    29. I googled the term the first time I heard it, not even sure how to pronounce it.Enneagram Any a gram Named for a nine sided polygon, the Enneagram distinguishes and describes nine facets of the human personality, nine different ways of being, nine unique manifestations of the image of God on this planet In The Road Back to You, Ian Cron and Suzanne Stabile provide a clear, humorous, and sensitive road map for the journey of self discovery that happens while studying the Enneagram. Here s a summar [...]

    30. Very interesting I have taken a couple of different tests online so I was fairly confident in my own number The book was an excellent primer for learning about each number and helping me see the viewpoints of those in my life who may think or feel differently than I do It was fun reading each chapter and identifying which of my friends and family may belong to that number My personal hope with reading this book is that I will be a better mom and friend by understanding those close to me better.
