    1. It s the journey, not the destination that counts, and K C Frederick s Looking for Przybylski gives voice to many journeys under the guise of a road trip from Detroit to Los Angeles Ziggy Czarnecki s life has run the gamut of car manufacturing, numbers running, success and abject failure But now his friends are reaching the ends of their journeys and mortality looms Perhaps Ziggy s searching for meaning in his life when he sets off on a Greyhound Bus to look for his old friend Przybylski, but wh [...]

    2. I won this in the First reads program This book is not what I expected Ziggy is a big shot with a successful numbers racket in the Polish community of 40 s 50 s Detroit A member of the community rats him out to the cops and he loses everything he built Twenty years later, unemployed and elderly, Ziggy discovers the identity of the rat, Przybylski, the neighborhood mortician This information sets him off on a road trip to confront the man, now living in LA With that set up, I was expecting a crim [...]

    5. I received this book from the publisher in exchange for a review I kept reading because I felt an obligation to complete the book Parts I wasn t too excited about Ziggy, the main character, is basically a loser and not that interesting Not much happened except that Ziggy learned about himself in the process of taking this journey to find Przybylski But, that is what I expected from any road trip book Parts of the book I liked The discussion of Detroit in its boom and bust periods were interesti [...]

    6. After finishing this book, I paused to reflect what I just read, and I realized this book is one of three books I consider to be movie material, and would be great films at that the other two books are Defending Jacob by William Landay, and A Land More Kind Than Home by Wiley Cash. This book Looking for Przybylski is a page turner which I could not put down Why Because the author writes in such a way that puts the reader in this case, right next to Ziggy, the main character, while he is in search [...]
